Chris Thompson, VP Central Asia Publishing, Regional Marketing and EAP
Chris has been in the video gaming industry for almost 20 years - all of which he spent with Electronic Arts (EA).
Chris joined Electronic Arts in 1987 as the company’s 130th employee. After a two years stint in Customer Service, QA and Marketing, Chris moved to Europe where he set up the Product Marketing team and spearheaded the region’s Sales and Marketing effort in the acquisition and formation of EA’s first continental European distribution, eventually growing it to 40% market share.
Following Europe, Chris moved to Canada to start up EA’s first Studio Marketing organization for EA’s largest development studio in Vancouver, Canada. This was then used as the basis for studio marketing concept around the world for EA.
Chris moved to Japan in 1998 as VP of Marketing and Business Development. He re-engineered the organization and increase its revenue five-fold during his stint.
He is currently Vice President and General Manager of Asia based out of the regional headquarters in Singapore where he oversees regional marketing efforts and the publishing business for all Central Asia. In addition, Chris is also responsible for EA Partners local content development in Asia.
Chris graduated from Stanford University in 1987 with a degree in International Relations. He sits on the Media Development Board of Singapore and consults on Singapore Infocomm Development Authority year 2015 plans. He is also a member on the board of the Nanyang Polytechnic School of Interactive and Digital Media.
In his spare time he enjoys yoga, swimming, eating veggies and spending time with his wife and kids.
